The Packaging Laboratory is the unique Laboratory in the packaging field of the HES-SO and the Swiss University Network

 

 History

1983 : Packaging Laboratory setting up (LEC for Laboratoire Emballage et Conditionnement)

1994 : First certification ISO 9001 / EN 29001

1998 : LEC moves to the University of Applied Sciences Vaud (EIVD, since 2006, HEIG-VD) in Yverdon-les-Bains

Setting up member of the Excellence Group "Food Production & Environmental - and Chemical Technology" (Real-Tech)

2003 : Certification ISO 9001:2000 - Swiss Association for Quality and Management System (SQS)

2009 : Certification ISO 9001:2008 - SQS

 

 Missions

The Packaging Laboratory has for missions to :

  • answer the various requests from the industries confronted with packaging probematics, non bureaucratically but with the necessary skill and confidentiality
  • realize some services in total neutrality in the packaging field
  • promote innovation through the research works to the regional, national and international levels
  • promote the R & D image of the HEIG-VD and the HES-SO in the public and private research as well as the economical offices
  • promote the university and continuing training in accordance with the HES’ missions

 

 Member

The Packaging Laboratory is a member of :

  • the Center for Engineering and Technology Transfer (CeTT) which provides comprehensive instruction and support to the work force in both educational and corporate communities, promotes understanding and utilization of new technologies and encourages appropriate applications of various technologies
  • the Excellence Groupe Real Tech of the HES-SO (RCSORT)
  • the Swiss Food Research, R&D Consortiums recognised by the Swiss Confederation, Food for Life platform in Switzerland
  • the international Association of Packaging Research Institutes (IAPRI)
